1 1/2 TB. yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 to 2 c. warm water
2 c. tomato juice
2 TB. salt
1/2 c. honey
1/4 c. molasses
1/4 c. shortening
11 c. whole wheat flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast and sugar in the 1/2 c. warm water. Stir and set aside. In mixer, mix the 2 c. water, tomato juice, salt, honey, molasses and shortening. Add yeast mix and the whole wheat flour. MIx for about 10 minutes into a moderately stiff dough.
Place in a greased bowl, turning to grease all surfaces. Cover and let rise until double in bulk, about one hour. Knead down and shape into 4 medium loaves. Place in well-greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise until almost double.
Bake @ 350º for 40 minutes or until done. Remove from oven and cool on racks. Brush tops of hot loaves with butter, then cool completely on racks.
