1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1-1/2 cup flour
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp milk
1-10-ounce jar pitted Maraschino cherries (well- drained)

Glaze:
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk.
Food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Blend in vanilla.
Add flour and salt with milk, mixing well.
Shape 1 tbsp dough around cherry to form a ball.
Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in a 350 degree 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
Cool.
Dip tops of cookies in glaze.
Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

For Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk and food coloring well. Divide and tint with food coloring, leaving some of the glaze white if you wish.
