1/2 c. shortening (or butter)
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3 to 4 bananas
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. buttermilk (or 2/3 c. milk with 1 tsp. vinegar to sour)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, sugar, vanilla & eggs. Add mashed bananas and mix. Add the flour, baking soda, salt & buttermilk. Fill greased bread pans 1/2 way.
Bake at 350º for 55 minutes.

This recipe came from my Grandma DenBleyker who went to meet Jesus last October after being on this earth for 99 years! She was known to all for her wonderful bread that she would often bake in old soup cans.
