3 c cooking apples peeled & sliced
1 ½ c vegetable oil
2 c sugar
3 eggs
2 Tbsp vanilla
3 c pre-sifted flour
1 tsp salt
1 c chopped pecans or walnuts
3 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease 9x13 inch glass baking dish.
Prepare apples & set aside. Blend oil, sugar, eggs, & vanilla. Add flour, salt, and cinnamon. Stir in apples and nuts. Pour into dish and bake for 45 minutes.
Topping:
1 c brown sugar
6 Tbsp butter or margarine
¼ c evaporated milk
Combine brown sugar, butter, & milk in a small saucepan – bring to boil and pour immediately over the hot cake. –will partially be absorbed into the cake leaving a caramel topping. Do not cut for at least one hour.
