6 large onions, sliced
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
3/4 cup sugar
2 T salt

Dressing:

1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 tsp celery seed
dash of dill

Mix sauce and pour over onions. Marinate for 3 hours. Drain well. Mix dressing and pour over onions. Salt and pepper to taste
