1-1 ˝ pounds of spaghetti
tomato sauce (jarred or homemade)
grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
for the meatballs:
2 pounds ground beef (or any combination of ground beef, pork, veal, or turkey)
1 cup bread crumbs (plain or seasoned)
˝ cup grated Parmesan cheese
a handful of fresh parsley, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, either minced or put through a press
2 eggs
Italian seasoning (oregano, basil, thyme), 1 teaspoon or to taste
salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 400
Bring a large pot of water to boil, and simmer tomato sauce in a separate pot.
Place all ingredients for meatballs except eggs in a large bowl and combine. (Best to use your hands.)
Add eggs and combine again. Form the mixture into about 16 meatballs.
Brown meatballs in a skillet and either:
–add to sauce and turn heat up to medium so that the meatballs can finish cooking in the sauce for about 20 minutes (preferred); or else
–finish cooking the meatballs on a cookie sheet in oven (about ten minutes should do it; add a few minutes if you made very big meatballs, or subtract a few if you made small ones) and then add them to the sauce.
Cook spaghetti according to package instructions; spoon meatballs and sauce over spaghetti. Add grated cheese to taste and serve hot.
