Crust for 2-crust pie, unbaked, 3 eggs, 2/3 cup sugar,
1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 cup butter (melted), 1 cup dark Karo syrup, 6 oz. pecan halves, 1 tsp. vanilla, 5 cup apples, pared, sliced (I use Granny Smith), 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp. lemon juice,1 tbsp. dark Karo syrup
2/3 tbsp flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon.

Mold bottom pie crust into 9'' pie plate or pan

Beat together eggs, 2/3 cup sugar, salt, butter, and 1 cup dark Karo syrup. Add pecan halves and vanilla. Pour into bottom pie shell. Set aside.

In a sauce pan mix apples, brown sugar, lemon juice and 1 tbsp dark Karo syrup. Cover and cook 5-7 minutes on medium heat or until apples are tender.

Remove from heat and mix in flour and cinnamon.

Pour over pecan mixture in pie shell. Cover with top crust and flute edge to seal.

Bake at 400 º for 40-45 minutes

Cool and serve with Vanilla Ice Cream
