First mash the potatoes. Mix in the dry ingredients first then mix in the ginger, coriander and peas. Make small flat round shapes (diameter 1-1 1/2 in. 1/2 in. thick). Heat a cast iron skillet or nonstick pan. Put in 1 tablespoon of oil in the pan, grease all over. Put the round flat balls (tikis) in the pan and fry until they look golden brown.

Makes a serving size of 10-15 tikis.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Aloo tikis are one of my favorite snacks. The word aloo means potato in Hindi. The soft mushy warm potatoes melt in my mouth like lava. My mom makes this dish once in a while because it takes a pretty long time to make. My mouth waters when the dish is finally being served. I can't wait to eat it! I eat it slowly to enjoy the salty and spicy taste. I hope you will enjoy this dish too!
