2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1c. buttermilk
1t. flavoring (vanilla, lemon, or coconut)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar, shortening and eggs. Sift together the dry ingredients, and add to above. Then stir in buttermilk and flavoring. Bake in a well-greased or sprayed 10" tube pan or a bunt pan for 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees. After cooked, remove from pan to cool on a rack.
