2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 T vanilla
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks

Preheat oven to 325º. Grease cookie sheet and cover with parchment paper. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.  Set aside. In a medium bowl, blend together the melted butter and the brown and granulated sugar. Beat in the vanilla and egg and egg yolk until the mixture is light and creamy. Mix in the flour mixture by hand until lightly blended. Stir in chocolate chunks with a wooden spoon. Drop cookie dough by 1/4 cup measuring cup and allow 3 inches around each cookie, about 6 to a half sheet pan. Bake 15-17 minutes until edges are lightly browned.  Cool for a few minutes on the cookie sheet and then transfer to a wire cooling rack. Also wonderful if you add 1 cup chopped pecans or macadamia nuts.
