1 medium head firm cabbage
1 pound ground beef
1 C. cooked rice
1 egg, well beaten
1 onion chopped fine
1/2 C. milk
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 C. water
1 C. tomato sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Clean cabbage and remove core. Steam or boil cabbage until leaves are wilted and pliable. Separate leaves and reserve 8 to 10 of largest. Mix beef, rice, egg, onion, milk and seasoning. Fill each leaf separately with mixture. Wrap leaf securely, and skewer with toothpicks. Place flat down in Dutch oven. Add water, tomato sauce and place remaining leaves on top. Cover tightly and cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hours. Add small amount of water if necessary.
