1/2 c. plus 1 T. sugar divided
1 T. flour
1 unbaked pie shell (9 inches)
1 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
3 T. butter or margarine
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 c. chopped black walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Combine 1 T. sugar and flour; sprinkle over bottom of pie shell and set aside. In a medium saucepan, bring corn syrup, brown sugar and remaining sugar just to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in butter until melted. Let cool 3 minutes. Gradually stir eggs into hot mixture. Add walnuts and mix well. Pour into pie shell. Place pie in oven; REDUCE heat immediately to 325º. Bake for 55 minutes or until top is browned.

Regular walnuts can be used but I prefer the black walnuts from the tree at my mom's house in Riceville.
