1 bag of red peas/kidney beans
5 potatoes
5 carrots
1 bag of flour
1 sprig of thyme
1 onion
1 scotch bonnet pepper
3 pegs garlic
1 stalk scallions
3 tsps. black pepper
3 tsps. paprika
2 tsps. salt
1 can soup broth/cubes

© In a medium sized pot bring 5 cups of water to a boil, add red peas. Cut each potato into four pieces. Slice carrots into small circular pieces and place in pot with chopped seasonings. (thyme, scotch bonnet pepper, garlic, scallions and onions).
take 2-3 cups of flour and add water until pastey. Make into a dough-like texture. Create tiny dumplings and add to pot with seasonings. Add salt, black pepper and paprika. Let all ingredients continue to boil,stirring occasinally. Add soup broth and cover. When liquid starts to dwindle, add enough water to keep mixture boiling until peas become soft and vegetables are cooked. Occasionally add salt, pepper and margarine to taste. Cook for approximately an hour. Monitor pot carefully every few minutes, adding water to keep mixture smooth. Cook on a medium flame.
