"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Combine 2 c. sugar and 2 c. water and heat to boiling to make a simple syrup. Let cool.
Squeeze lemons. You will need 1 1/2 cups of lemon juice. Combine 1 1/2 lemon juice and 2 c. of simple syrup and add 3-4 cups of water and ice. You will have about 1/2 c. of simple syrup left over. If lemonade is too tart just add some more simple syrup. Makes about 2 qts

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This lemonade is a little pricey but the memories of making this with my grandson Luke are priceless. This is Luke's favorite beverage and he loves to help make it. We started out making lemonade by squeezing the lemons with my "Bubby's" antique glass juicer. We now use an electric juicer which makes the job much easier. For some reason using the sugar syrup makes the lemonade taste better.
