1-½ cups flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¾ teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup sugar
1 egg
¾ cup shortening
¾ cup canned pumpkin
1 ¾ cups rolled oats
½ cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually, creaming until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Add pumpkin, rolled oats, flour mixture and chocolate chips and blend well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven (375°F) about 15 minutes.
