2/3 cup shortening
2 2/3 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 can (1 pound) pumpkin
3 1/3 cup flour*
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 ½ teaspoon salt
1-teaspoon cinnamon
1-teaspoon cloves
2/3 cup water
2/3 cup coarsely chopped nuts
2/3 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 2 loaf pans, 9x5x3.” Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs, pumpkin and water. Blend in dry ingredients except nuts and raisins. Stir in nuts and raisins. Bake in prepared pans 65 to 75 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

(*When using self-rising flour, omit baking powder, soda and salt.) 350°F
