2 lbs round steak, cubed
2 tbsp oil
2 cups cooked but firm navy beans
1 can tomatoes
salt & pepper to taste
2 cups sliced onion
1/2 cup brown sugar
5 slices bacon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º. In large frying pan, cook steak until brown. Add beans, tomatoes, salt and pepper. Cover, simmer 10 minutes. Spoon 1/2 mixture into 2-quart casserole dish. Spread onions over the bean mixture, then sprinkle with half the brown sugar. Add remaining half of bean mixture, sprinkle with remaining sugar. Lay strips of bacon over top. Bake about one hour.
