3 Romaine lettuce hearts
3/4 cups Kraft Zesty Italian dressing
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
3 cloves garlic, crushed
4 slices of good quality sourdough bread
butter, garlic powder, and parsley flakes.
One 12 oz. jar artichoke hearts

For homemade croutons, spread butter across each slice, both sides. Coat each side with garlic powder, and parsley flakes. Cut each slice into 2 inch by 4 inch slices. Brown croutons in a toaster oven, or under broil in a regular oven, flipping over each croutons and brown on each side, making sure that they are not burned and are browned evenly.

For salad. Tear up the Romaine lettuce hearts, add to a large salad bowl. Add Parmesan cheese, and mix well. Add Italian dressing, artichoke hearts, salt, pepper and croutons. Mix well to make sure that the croutons have plenty of dressing on them.

This is a variation of the original Caesar Salad recipe. But, I love it. It is easier, and just as tasty.
