5 cups flour
3 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cloves
2 tbsp. cocoa (optional)

3 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
3 cups applesauce
1 cup chopped nuts
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. fruitcake mix or 1 lb. package of gumdrops.


Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients together.
Cream sugar, shortening and eggs and add applesauce, then add dry ingredients, nuts, raisins, fruitcake mix and or gumdrops. Pour into greased loaf pans and bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted.
