1 medium onion chopped fine
1 can diced tomatoes (28 oz)
2 cups water
3 cans beef consomme
1 can tomote soup
4 carrots (chopped fine or grated)
1 bay leaf
3 sticks celery ( chopped fine)
Parsley
1/2 tsp thyme
8 Tbsp Barley
Pepper to taste

Brown meat and onions and drain fat. Add rest of ingredients. Simmer 2 hours.
