Cucumbers
Dill
3 quarts water
1 quart vinegar
3/4 c. pickling salt
1 t. alum
Optional: several cloves of garlic
also jalapeņos

Directions:
Directions:
Mix water, vinegar, salt and alum; boil for 5 minutes. Put dill on the bottom of the jar and then pack the cucumbers in jar, pour boiled solution in jar and seal.
(I put my lids in hot water while brine is cooking).

This is Grandma Kaiser recipe. My kids will not buy pickles and one of our grandsons (Carson) will only eat these.
