5 eggs separated
1/2 cup butter softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 cup milk
Bananas sliced lenghtwise
1 T. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter with 1 cup sugar. Add the 5 egg yolks. Beat well. Mix the flour with with the baking powder. Add to egg yolk mixture alternating with the milk. Bake in 3 greased and floured 10 inch pans @ 350º til done.
Beat egg whites with 1 T. sugar until stiff.
Layer bananas and the 3 cakes alternately starting and ending with a cake layer.
Frost sides and top of cake with the beaten egg whites/sugar mixture.

This is a dry cake but it is the way Uncle Mel liked it and to my knowledge Granny made it. I made this for Uncle Mel once and he gave me $25.00 for it.
