Ingredients: 18 Krispy Kreme original glazed donuts each divided into 6 pcs 1 quart heavy whipping cream 2 c whole milk 10 egg yolks 2 eggs 1/2 c sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand) Butter for greasing baking dish 1/2 c brewed espresso, cooled

Directions:Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Spread the donut pieces on the sheets. Bake approximately 30 min and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk two cups of heavy cream with milk, egg yolks, eggs and condensed milk. Add donut pieces. Let them soak until softened, about 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Raise oven temperature to 350 degrees. Lightly butter a 9x13 baking dish. Spoon donut mixture into dish and cover with aluminum foil. Set dish in a roasting pan large enough to hold it and add approximately 1/2 inch of water to the pan. Bake approximately 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes. Broil for approximately 3 minutes or until brown. Let cool 30 minutes. Whip remaining 2 cups of heavy cream. Stir in espresso. Serve on side. |
