2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening or butter1 cup milk
2 eggs well beaten
7 cups flour
2 tbsp Hartzhorn dissolved in hotmillk
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening/butter. Add eggs and milk with Hartzhorn. Add flour and vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees. (Hartzorn is also called Baking Ammonia. The smell of ammonia is strong when mixed in the milk but cookies are wonderful.)
