1 stick butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup Sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter with sugar, salt, and vanilla. Add egg and beat until mixture is light and creamy. Mix flour with soda, tartar, and spices. Add this alternately to the creamed mixture with the milk. Mix in the raisins and the nuts. Drop cookies on baking sheets and bake at 400° for 10-12 minutes.
