3-31/2 lbs cubed beef (1")
1 cup of onions,diced
1 cup of celery, diced
butter
2 medium bay leaves
2 cloves of garlic
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp pepper
2-beef bouillon cubes
thyme
15 oz can of tomato sauce
1/2 cup of red wine
2 tsps of seasoning
1 cup carrots, thinly sliced
8-9 potatoes, peeled and cubed
15 oz can of tomatoes

Directions:
Directions:
Flour the beef.
In 6 Tbsp of grease, brown the beef in a large iron skillet.
Place beef in bowl. Put diced onions and celery in skillet with a little butter...saute until onions look clear.
Add beef back into the skillet with 5 cups of water and add bay leaves, garlic, salt, pepper, cubes of beef bouillon, dash of thyme, 15 oz can of tomato sauce, red wine, and seasoning, Cook for 1 1/2 hours.

Add thinly sliced carrots and potatoes. Cook for 30 minutes.

Add can of tomatoes and cook 10 minutes more.

If the liquid is not thick enough, add a little flour dissolved in hot water to thicken it.
