Crust topping:
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten
1 stick of butter, melted


Berry filling:
2 tbsp. flour
3/4 cup sugar
4 to 5 cups fresh blackberries

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375º.
2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar and baking powder for the crust. Make a well in the centre, and blend in the egg, mixing until the topping is crumbly. Set aside.
3. To prepare the filling, mix flour and sugar in a small bowl. Place berries in a large bowl and sprinkle with the flour and sugar mixture. Toss gently to coat berries.
4. Transfer berry mixture to well buttered 9x9x2 baking dish, and sprinkle topping over the berries. Drizzle the butter over the crumbly topping. Bake for 45 minutes.

My neighbour Marsha gave me this recipe, and my kids, husband and I all LOVE it! I usually substitute half the berries for peeled, sliced apples, but it is fabulous either way...
