5 lb. fresh blue lake beans
dill
garlic
1 sm. hot red pepper
4 c. vinegar
4 c. sugar
1/4 c. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cook whole beans until almost tender. Pack in pint jars with one head of dill, 1 clove of garlic and 1 small red hot pepper. Bring to boil, vinegar, salt, sugar. Pour over hot beans and seal.

The Rupps lived across the street from us on Marie St. Mom and Donna became very close friends in later years. One day they were discussing how the neighborhood was going downhill to crime and decided they should be vigilantes. So Mom went home and strapped on Dad's police gun and Winne (another neighbor) found a gun at her house. They met in the middle of the intersection to show all who was Boss!
