3/4 c. water
4 T. sugar
2 pkg dry yeast
1 c. milk
1/4 c. cream
1 tsp. salt
3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. soaked raisins
1/4 c. flour
3 eggs
Oil for deep-fat frying
Powdered sugar glaze or granulated sugar

Directions:
Combine lukewarm water, sugar and dry. yeast. Let stand for serveral minutes until bubbly.
Add milk, cream, salt and 3 c. flour & 3 eggs.
Beat until well blended.
Plump raisins in water; drain well.
Coat with 1/4 c. flour.
Add flour-coated raisins.
Let mixture rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
Punch down. Let rise again.
Heat oil in a deep-fat fryer.
Drop spoonfuls in the hot oil until the cookies are lightly browned on all sides.
Remove from oil
Drain on papepr towel and dip in powdered sugar glaze or in grnaulted sugar.
