Instant hot chocolate packages (milk or dark)
New Mexican powdered red chili
Cinnamon
Kahlua, brandy, or whiskey (if desired)

Heat a mug full of water or milk until steaming. Add one and a half packages of hot chocolate mix (more if it's a large mug). Stir in a pinch of cinnamon (about 1/4 tsp) and a bit of the New Mexico red chili powder (this can be done to taste, about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp is good). Add about 1 tsp of your preferred liquor (if desired). Enjoy!

This is a super easy twist on the traditional hot chocolate. It's great for cold winter evenings. All ingredients can be adjusted to taste, but the chili should not be so hot to burn, but still enough to get a good sting! Also the alcohol can be omitted for the kids!
