2 cakes yeast
1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. molasses
1 qt. flour
4 tsp. salt
1 qt. warm water
3 tbsp. lard melted

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1 tsp. sugar, a little water may be added if desired. Mix ingredients in order given. Add enough white flour to make stiff dough. Knead until elastic. Let rise and when double in size make into loaves and let rise again bake 1 hour in moderate over on 400º for 35 minutes.
