1 1/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. molasses or honey
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
4 c. flour
4 tsp. soda dissovled in 4 tsp. hot water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together until smooth, sugar, molasses, shortening and eggs. Add dissolved soda and then the dry ingredients. Mix well. Roll in small balls and flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350º for 15 min.

When I was in Junior High the Patricks took me to Entiat to visit Miles' parents. Grandma Patrick treated me like family and I remember having these cookies at night with milk.
