1 c. sugar
about 3/4 c. water
2 c. shortening
1 tsp salt
1 tsp anise seed
2 tsp baking powder
6 c. flour
cinnamon
Directions:
Directions:
Cream lard with hand, add sugar and beat until light and fluffy, add anise seed. Mix flour which has been sifted with salt and baking powder, with the lard mixture. Add just enough water to make mixture hold together. Add a shot or 2 of Brandy for added flavor. Roll and cut into fancy shapes. Dip into a flat plate with sugar and cinnamon and bake at 350 degree for about 8 minutes remove and cool on cookie rack, yummy
