1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 cup burgundy
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Core, then cut cabbage into wedges.
Cut on diagonal to shred into thin strips.
Rinse in cold water in colander. Drain
Place in large pot.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer 1 1/2-2 hours.
Reheat and season to taste with:
burgundy (approx. 1 cup)
cider vinegar (approx. 1/4 cup)
brown sugar (approx. 1/4 cup)
Thicken with a little flour if needed.
