Ingredients:
1 gallon whole dill pickles
4 lbs white sugar
6 to 8 whole cloves of garlic

Directions:
Directions:
Pour juice off of pickles and discard (or save some to drink when you get leg cramps, it really helps). Cut pickles in chunks or slices. Layer pickles, sugar, and garlic back in jar. Put lid on jar.
Once a day for 8 days turn jar upside down, stir with wooden spoon or shake. At end of 8 days put into sterile pint jars and seal. You may process them in a hot water bath not more than 10 minutes for longer shelf life.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Ann is the wife of our beloved and retired pastor, J.B. Prouse, of Wesley United Methodist Church. She made the pickles for our bazaar every year we had it. Now that they are gone into retirement the torch has passed to Rene McDaniels and myself.
