1 (l lb.) loaf french bread
2 cups half and half
2 cups milk
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups sugar
3/4 cups pecans
3/4 cups raisins (I use baking raisins)
1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup melted butter

Whiskey Sauce

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup half and half
1 1/2 Tbsp. whiskey

1. Combine first 3 ingredients into heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
2. Remove from heat and cool. Add whiskey

1. Tear bread into small pieces and place in large bowl. Add half and half and milk into bowl. Let stand 10 minutes.
2. Stir mixture well with a wooden spoon. Add eggs and next 5 ingredients , stirring well.
3. Pour butter into 13x9 inch pan. Tilt pan to coat evenly. Spoon pudding mixture into pan. Bake uncovered at 325º for 55-60 minutes or until pudding is firm. Remove from oven and cool.
4. Cut into squares and spoon whiskey sauce over each serving.
