Pudding:

1/4 c sugar
1/4 t salt
3 eggs
2 T flour
2 c milk
1 t vanilla flavoring

4 to 5 bananas
1 box vanilla wafers

Meringue:

6 egg whites
1/2 c sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a medium sized saucepan on the stove top. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until heated. In a baking dish, start with a layer of vanilla wafers, followed by slices of banana and pour 1/2 of pudding mixture over wafers and bananas. Repeat. In a cool glass bowl, beat egg whites until slightly stiff. Gradually add sugar and beat until mixture is stiff. Top pie with meringue and bake on 325º until meringue is lightly brown (about 15 to 20 minutes).

Make this for a dessert and prepare to be loved...very few make banana pudding the old fashioned way anymore.
