1 C plus 2 tsp cold water
1 C sugar
1/2 C margarine or butter
1 C raisins
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda & 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 T. vinegar
2 C flour
The juice of 1 orange or (Substitute juice of lemon)
1/2 tsp. cloves

Preheat oven 350º-F 9x5x3-in. loaf pan or ring mold. Grease & flour a loaf pan.
Boil 1 C water, sugar, margarine, raisins & spices together, set aside to cool. Mix soda with remain-
ing water. Add salt & flour to boiled mixture; add dissolved soda, vinegar and orange/lemon juice.
