2 egg whites
Pinch salt
½ tsp cream of tartar
¾ cup sugar
½ tsp vanilla
1 ½ cups chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees for 15 minutes

Beat egg whites until frothy, add salt, cream of tartar, beat until stiff

Add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, beating constantly until glossy.

Mix in vanilla, fold in chocolate chips. Drop on greased cookie sheet with teaspoons. Place in oven. Turn OFF heat and let cookies stand overnight. Do not open oven for about 5 hours.

These are Jeff Schneider’s favorite cookies and Alissa makes them for him on anniversaries, his birthday, and/or father’s day. One note: You may want to put a note on the oven when they are in there so that someone in your family who isn’t aware that the cookies are in there with the oven off, doesn’t turn on the oven to pre-heat it to make pizza…. If that happens, you get some really burnt cookies!!
