1/3 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 cup unbleached, all-purpose flour
3 tspns. baking powder
2/3 cup milk
tspn. vanilla
lge. pinch salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream togethr butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Add vanilla.
In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder and salt.
Add flour mixture to egg mixture alternating with milk until combined into smooth batter.
Pour into greased cake tin and bake in 350º oven for 30-35 minutes.

This cake is absolutely the best cake to pour over fresh raspberries (preferably from Mimi's garden) and bake at a "pouding." Maxime's favorite.
