1 c. fresh honey

a pinch of baking soda

Cook honey to 305ºF using a candy thermometer. Do not stir. Remove from heat, add soda (not more than an 1/8 tsp) and stir. Pour into two 9x13 baking dishes greased with butter. Sprinkle powdered sugar on a large cookie sheet. When candy is cool enough to handle, begin pulling for taffy. Pull until it is silvery golden brown and until the candy is too stiff to pull anymore. Roll and twist into thin ropes and lay onto cookies sheet. Score into inch long pieces. When candy is hard, break with the handle of a butter knife.
