1 c. soft shortening or butter
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs.
1 tsp. lemon zest
3 tbsp. molasses
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. rolled oats

Directions:
Directions:
C ream sugars and butter add eggs,lemon, molasses and vanilla. Sift dry ingredient and add with oatmeal. Mix well. Form into round logs, wrap each with wax paper and freeze. Cut in rounds 1/2 in. thick and bake in 400º oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
