1 1/2 C. flour
1/2 C. sugar
pinch of salt
1 stick cold butter or margarine, or combination of both
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Put flour and sugar plus salt into bowl.
Cut into it cold butter and chop until small pea size.
Add egg yolk and vanilla; mix well.
Put for about 3 minutes into warm (not hot) oven.
Knead and squeeze by hand until a clump forms (if it feels too dry, add 1 tsp. water).
Roll out on buttered cookie sheet
(Not obligatory: brush with egg white and sprinkle with sugar)
Make lines with cookie wheel.
Bake for about 8 minutes at 350º.
Take out of oven and let it cool upside down.
When cool press cookie sheet and content will fall down.
Break sticks apart.
