5 cups all purpose flour
5 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup shortening
2 cups buttermilk
1 package yeast, dissolved in 5 tablespoons warm water

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, soda, and sugar. Cut in shortening. Stir in buttermilk. Add yeast mixture. Knead lightly, roll out, and cut with biscuit cutter. Bake on greased baking sheet 10-12 minutes at 450º. To freeze, place cut biscuits on ungreased cookie sheets. When frozen, store in plastic bags.
