1 8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
3/4 (1 1/2 sticks) real butter (softened)
2 t. vanilla
1 c. sugar
1/2 t. baking soda
2 1/4 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Beat cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer until well blended. Add flour and baking soda: mix well. Cover.
Can make ahead and keep dough in refrigerator until ready to roll out.
Roll to 1/8" or thicker on a floured surface. Use cookie cutters and place on baking sheets.
Bake @ 350 º for 8 to 12 minutes depending on ovens. Cookies are best if they are soft so bake just until the bottom is turning brown. Cool slightly on sheets then cool on rack. Decorate.

Can make thumbprint cookies by rolling into 1 inch balls then pressing with thumb. Bake for 10 minutes then add jam or preserves and bake 5 minutes more.
Can roll in chopped nuts before baking.
