Cakes:

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. flour
1-1/3 c. sugar
3 teas. baking powder
1 teas. salt
1/2 c. milk.....and 1/4 c. milk
2 eggs
1/2 teas. almond extract
1/2 teas. vanilla

Utensils:

1 oven-proof bowl about 1-1/2 quarts
3 custard cups - 6 oz. each

Frosting:

Any white, fluffy frosting. One choice: See recipe for 7 Minute Frosting in this section.

Snowman Decorations (any candies you want, or use the following):

chocolate pieces
cinnamon candy dots
gum drops, black & red
tin foil for hat

Directions:
Directions:
Grease and flour the oven-proof bowl & 3 custard cups.

Combine shortening, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1/2 c. milk and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed.

Then add 1/4 c. milk, vanilla & almond extracts and eggs. Beat 2 minutes.

Fill custard cups half full and put rest of batter into bowl. Bake cakes according to instructions below. Cool in containers for 15 minutes, and then remove. Cool.

Frost the big cake thickly with white fluffy frosting. Set one of the small cakes up as the head and frost. Two are extras.

Use chocolate pieces for eyes, cinnamon candy for nose, long red gumdrops for the mouth, black gum drops for ears and buttons. Make a hat to put on the snowman cake.

Bake at 350º
30 minutes for small custard cups
55-65 minutes for larger bowl (depends on size)
