3 eggs (large, not extra large)
2/3 cups white granulated sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup melted butter (completely melted)
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
1 unbaked pie crust

Directions:

Chop pecans horizontally, not too thin. Start oven at 350`. Beat eggs slightly until whites and yokes are completely mixed. Add remaining ingredients except pecans and stir well. Fold in pecans. Pour mix into pie shell. Bake at 350` for 15 min. and then lower oven temp. to 300`. Bake for an additional 45 min.

This was Ron's Grandma Stopak's recipe and our favorite pecan pie recipe. It's a favorite in the south at holiday time. Since Grandma Stopak was very particular about this pie, here are some tips for success: Pie should puff up in middle before taking out of oven, bake only one pie at a time and never cover your pie until completely cooled.
