2 lb. top round, diagonally cut across grain in thin strips
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, split lengthwise
1 1" cube fresh ginger, crushed
2 T. sugar
1/2 c. soy sauce
white rice
1/2 c. sherry
2 T. oil
2 tsp. cornstarch dissolved in 1 T. water.

Directions:
Place steak in large, non-metal bowl. Cover with onion, garlic, ginger and sugar. Combine soy sauce and sherry and pour over meat. Let stand 2-3 hrs. Drain beef and blot dry. Strain marinade and set aside. Heat oil on high heat. Stir-fry beef until lightly browned. Place on hot platter. Bring marinade to boil; add cornstarch solution until thick. Pour over steak.
