1 lb fresh cranberries (12 oz bag)
2 cups sugar (1 3/4 cup)
1/2 cup fresh orange juice (3/8 cup)
1/2 cup cranberry juice (3/8 cup)
finely grated zest of 1 orange (3/4 orange zest)
1 cup dried cherries (3/4 cup)

Pick through the cranberries, rinse, then drain well. Combine the cranberries, sugar, orange juice, cranberry juice and orange zest. (if you don't have cranberry juice sub with orange juice) Place over medium heat; boil slowly until the berries pop open, about 10 minutes.

Skim the foam off the surface with a metal spoon, stir in cherries and let cool to room temperature. (tastes great warm too) Cover and refrigerate. It will last up to one month.
