4 cups water
1 lb. corn flour (3 cups)
1 to 1 1/2 all-purpose flour
1/4 cup margarine or butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Boil water, margarine, sugar and salt. Remove from head. Mixing well, add corn flour and mix until all of the lumps dissolve. Return to low head, cook over very low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook to handle. Knead the mixture adding in the baking powder and all purpose flour a little at a time until dough is smooth and easy to handle. Dust hands with flour and roll into a cigar shape.

Fry in a frying pan half-filled with oil on a medium heat, turn until all sides are golden brown. Serve hot.
